Who we are...

Jim E. Anderson Greg E. Noll

Drummer Jim E. Anderson spent his formative years on the road, honing his chops. While his peers stayed home, Jim toured as sticksman for the Pointer Sisters, Elvin Bishop, Tom Johnston and others. He brings a lot of experience to the table, and without his drumming or his vocals, it just wouldn't be Crazy Ivan.

Greg E. Noll came to the band directly from Alfa Records recording artists Villain. As guitarist for the group, he played all over this great state of ours (Cal.) and released two CD’s in Japan. Always wanting to play different styles of music, he eventually left Villain. Their loss is our gain. On guitar and vocals, he also remains the "head banger" of Crazy Ivan.

HOW THE BAND WAS FORMED...

After playing together in another local band for a year and a half, guitarist Greg Noll and eventual partner, drummer Jim E. Anderson found themselves without a band to perform with in the Fall of 1996. It didn't take long for them to decide to form their own outfit. Crazy Ivan was formed when bass player Kris Osward was added and the band had their first gig in February of 1997. The band continued working on cover material to allow them to play clubs and parties through 1997 and also began working on their original songs. They also began planning their first recording project around the same time and in late February and early March of '97 they recorded their first demo at the Band Factory in Sonora. Shortly after, Kris Osward gave his notice to the band to pursue his own musical interests and the search was on for a replacement bass player. The band actually stopped performing with Kris in July of 1998. After several auditions and anxious months a new bass player was located in the person of Bob Hufman. He became a member of the band in October and Crazy Ivan's first gig with "the new guy" on bass was in November of 1998. With the addition of Bob on bass, Crazy Ivan was complete again and the guys once again started working on their own songs for a future recording project.

Fast forward to July 2005 (yeah that's 7 years). Mr. Hufman gave his notice. Jim and Greg asked their old friend and musical compatriot Kevin Jachetta to help cover three shows that were already booked before our bass guitarist gave his notice. The shows went off without a hitch and Kevin decided he liked Rockin and Rollin with the boyz so he asked if we would be interested in him joining the band. Ahhh... We said OH YEAH!!

Which brings us to 2006 and the prospect of not one but 2 new recording projects. Stay tuned to Ivan central for updates.
